Overnight Trip to Malmö, Sweden
On September 25-26, me and my friend Kat took an overnight trip to Malmö, Sweden just across the ocean from Copenhagen! It is a popular spot for DIS students to go for a short trip to Sweden, since all you need to do is take a $15, 45-minute ride on the regional train from Copenhagen... Continue Reading →
Bornholm Bike Trip
Hey folks. Sorry for being a little behind on blog posts. I've been quite busy lately, and these posts take a lot of organization and time! However, I shall finally present to you my DIS-organized weekend trip to Bornholm, an island of Denmark in the Baltic Sea which looks like it should be Swedish. By... Continue Reading →
Gas Prices
Just stopped at the gas station with my host grandma and host mom on our way home from IKEA (my first time!), and did the math to find out that gas here is $6.76 a gallon -- yikes! Sure explains why so many people don't have cars here...

Open Farm Visit!

We got to see all of the cows on their premises, and I learned about their milking process. Apparently,... Continue Reading →
Roskilde
Two weekends ago (I think) too I went with Carsten, Kristina, and my host grandma for a day trip to Roskilde. This was on my list of places to go before I came here, so I was really excited. It was a short ride in the car north. It was a beautiful fall day, and it was... Continue Reading →
Kronborg Castle
The most recent castle I went to (a few weeks ago... I'm a little behind on blogging) was Kronborg Castle! I went a few weekends ago with my host mom, host grandma, and host sister. Kronborg Castle is in Helsingør, north from my house, on the northeastern tip of the island of Zealand. "Immortalized as... Continue Reading →
Cultural Difference: Saying I Love You
I realized I haven't been posting much about Danish culture, so here's a go at it with info I learned in Danish Language and Culture this morning: Danes don't say "I love you" when they leave their family members in the morning or sending their kids off to school, as most Americans do regularly. When in... Continue Reading →
